Tips on how to provide your scarf with a longer & healthier life <3

Your Lost Club scarf isn’t just a piece of fabric, it’s a work of art, a story you wear, and a small slice of everyday luxury. Each scarf is crafted from 100% silk twill with hand-rolled edges, making it both delicate and distinctive. To preserve its shape, softness, and rich color palette for years to come, we recommend treating it with the same love and intention with which it was designed.

Below are our detailed care guidelines - follow them to ensure your scarf stays vibrant, crisp, and ready to wrap you in main-character energy every time you wear it:

1. Dry Clean Only - Always Your Safest Bet

Silk twill is a natural protein fiber, meaning it’s sensitive to moisture, temperature, and friction. We highly recommend having your scarf professionally dry cleaned only, and preferably by a cleaner familiar with fine silk garments. Avoid regular or budget dry cleaners that may use harsh chemicals or high heat, which could fade the print or distort the weave.

2. Never Machine Wash or Tumble Dry

Please never toss your silk scarf into the washing machine or dryer. Even on a delicate cycle, machine washing can stretch, shrink, or warp silk twill irreversibly. Similarly, tumble drying - even at low heat - can ruin the texture, dull the colors, and damage the hand-rolled edges. Silk and agitation are not friends.

3. Iron Only with Low Heat - and a Protective Barrier

Wrinkles can appear naturally over time, especially if the scarf has been stored folded. If needed, iron your scarf on the reverse side only, and always on the lowest heat setting. Place a clean cotton cloth or pressing cloth between your iron and the scarf to avoid any direct contact. Never use steam, as the moisture can leave watermarks or cause color bleeding.

4. Keep Away from Perfumes, Oils & Water

Silk is naturally absorbent and can permanently stain when exposed to perfume, body lotion, makeup, or even water droplets. To avoid damage:

  • Apply perfume, sunscreen, and other skincare products before putting on your scarf.
  • Do not wear your scarf in the rain or near sources of splashing water.
  • Avoid touching it with oily hands or resting it on freshly applied makeup or creams.

These stains can be impossible to remove without causing further damage, so prevention is key.

 5. Store Gently & Mindfully

When not in use, store your scarf with care:

  • Lay it flat or gently roll it to prevent deep creases.
  • Keep it away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can fade even the most vivid prints.
  • If you’re storing it for a longer period, wrap it in acid-free tissue paper and place it in a breathable box or fabric pouch.
  • Avoid hanging it on metal hangers or hooks, which can stretch or snag the silk.

6. Handle with Care - Respect the Craftsmanship

The hand-rolled edges are a symbol of quality and craftsmanship - stitched with precision and care. Avoid pulling or tugging at them, and be mindful when wearing rings, bracelets, or bags with zippers, which can catch on the delicate weave. These small threads are part of what makes your scarf unique - treat them gently and they’ll last for years.

7. When Traveling - Wrap It Like a Treasure

If you’re packing your scarf for travel:

  • Place it between layers of soft clothing to prevent friction.
  • Avoid packing it with toiletries that may leak.
  • You can also fold it inside a silk or satin pouch for added protection.

A Final Word: Treat It Like a Piece of You

Every Lost Club scarf is a limited-edition piece of wearable art - crafted for bold souls and made to last. With proper care, your scarf can be worn for years, passed down, or rediscovered in your wardrobe like an old friend. Each time you drape it over your shoulders, tie it in your hair, or loop it around your bag, you’re bringing that little spark of creativity and freedom with you.

So treat it with love.
And let it travel with you - through seasons, stories, and style.
